History

City employees Harlan L. Kelly, Jr. and Robert Mason started Project Pull in 1996. They wanted to provide positive opportunities for San Francisco's youth.

Harlan and Robert believed they could "pull" young people into public service by connecting them with mentors. They paired talented young people with professional workers in architecture, business, and engineering.

Today, Project Pull still has their goals of creating civic pride and teaching young people skills for future success.
